Arsenal is at their best when they attack. It’s not rocket science…

The Europa League final is set. Arsenal will take on Chelsea in Baku on the 29th of May. It’s an all-English final which will replicate the Champions League final this season. Unai Emery will look to take home his fourth Europa League title, whereas Maurizio Sarri is still trying for his first. Although, in terms of European titles, Chelsea do have the upper hand over Arsenal. That said, it will be an interesting tie.

It’s been a rollercoaster season for Arsenal. They went on an impressive unbeaten run after losing their first two games to Manchester City and Chelsea. The games in which they won and looked the most impressive were the games in which they attacked. Take Leicester City at home, for example, Mesut Ozil had a field day and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged a brace.

This is because Arsenal, when they are in top gear, is very hard to defend against. They play an impressive attacking style, implemented thoroughly through Arsene Wenger. Emery has continued this philosophy and it shows signs that it can work. Arsenal is very good at passing, and they utilise this well on the break.

Ozil and company are fine movers of the ball, so I fully expect the German to start in Baku. Aubamyenag is in fine form, and Alexandre Lacazette is always reliable. The three of them will be key to Arsenal’s attacking philosophy.

Obviously, the Gunners will need to pay attention to Eden Hazard at the other end. It looks certain that he will be leaving Chelsea now so he will be keen to give the fans something to remember him by. Arsenal must stop him doing this so they will need to defend in numbers, which will be helped by Laurent Koscielny‘s leadership.

Overall, though, Arsenal should have the confidence heading into this tie. They have it all to play for too since Chelsea has already secured their place in the Champions League for next season. The Gunners must not let this pressure get to them, something which is easier said than done.
