Following the confirmation from Ajax’s sporting director Marc Overmars, Hakim Ziyech will be leaving the Dutch capital this summer with him citing Arsenal as a “dream move” in a recent interview.

This season, Ziyech has been in outstanding form for Ajax with his performances catching the eyes of the Premier Leagues biggest clubs. The Mirror reports that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have all been watching him recently, with a summer move to the Premier League potentially on the cards.

Ziyech has been a star man for Ajax during their domestic double winning season and was recently named as their player of the season in the recent awards ceremony.  The attacking midfielder has scored an impressive 21 goals this season and registered a further 24 assists. This output has led to him being cited as the top transfer target for some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Morrocan international has a clause in his contract which means he could be leaving Ajax for as little as £25 million this summer. This would be a steal in today’s footballing market for a player that has proved he has the ability to produce spectacular displays in Europe’s biggest competition, the Champions League.

Boss Erik Ten Hagg has claimed that,

"“He leaves when a top club comes,” said the Ajax boss. “He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League.“Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer.”"

His impending departure will be with their blessing according to Ajax Sporting Director, Marc Overmars.

The Morrocan international has said that,

"“That [a move] will come by itself.“When that happens, everyone will automatically hear it.”"

In a recent interview with fellow club man, Patrick Kluivert, Ziyech stated that his ultimate dream would be playing for either Arsenal or Barcelona. With reports claiming that there is interest from Arsenal, it would seem a move here would be perfect for both the player and club with Arsenal in desperate need to add a creative midfielder to their ranks. Ziyech has the potential to take the Gunners to the next level, where he would be able to form a deadly partnership with striking duo Lacazette and Aubameyang.

However, Ziyech may also be tempted by a move to Merseyside with reports claiming that Liverpool has had scouts watching him all season.  It is clear that the midfielder would add a new dimension to Liverpool and he would fit into Jurgen Klopp’s attacking philosophy. With the Reds challenging Manchester City for the title to the end of the season and the guarantee of Champions League football, it will be interesting if Ziyech chooses Liverpool over the North Londoners.
