Real Madrid’s fans may have to brace for a summer exodus amid claims that Zinedine Zidane has transfer listed an astonishing 17 players.
Real Madrid were beaten 2-0 by Real Betis over a course of 90 minutes across which they were second best on Sunday afternoon. Los Blancos’ defeat to the Andalusian side meant that they had ended the season with 18 defeats, 12 in the league and five in the Santiago Bernabeu, their worst record since 1995/96.

Zinedine Zidane has made it clear that there will be changes as per his command and if not, he will walk away from the coaching role. That being said, he is already tipped to follow up Eder Militao’s signing with those of Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic, both of whom have been on the shopping list since a long while.
Diario GOL has now reported that the French manager has shortlisted as many as 17 players to be sold off. Some players were anyway expected to leave the club after falling out with Zidane or having lesser minutes than expected or even both. But the latest blacklist does contain some unexpected names that could be sold.
Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos and Marcos Llorente headline the 17 players. All three of them have no future at the club and will have to leave this summer. Keylor Navas will be another casualty after Zinedine Zidane has agreed to make Thibaut Courtois the first choice goalkeeper. His son Luca or youngster Andriy Lunin could be the second and third choice goalies.
Mariano Diaz, Jesus Vallejo and Sergio Reguilon are the other three names tipped to depart Real Madrid. Zidane does not rate them highly and will cash in on them at the earliest opportunity. Additionally, those youngsters on loan may not even come back from their respective clubs and could be sold off there and then.
Theo Hernandez, James Rodriguez, Mateo Kovacic, Martin Odegaard, Oscar Rodriguez, Borja Mayoral and Raul de Tomas reportedly have no future under Zinedine Zidane’s orders. All signs point towards the players searching for newer pastures without even playing for Real Madrid in the friendlies this summer at the United States.
Isco, Lucas Vazquez and Casemiro are the three other players that have been tipped to leave the club, but their exits are the unlikeliest to happen. Isco is aware of his lapses and willing to accept a second fiddle role, while Lucas Vazquez and Casemiro are unique players so losing them would be a big loss to the roster and Zidane is aware of it.
How much money do you think Real Madrid would earn from selling all those players?
