According to Mirror UK, the German giants are very keen on Sane, who was an instrumental part of City’s historic treble this year.
Bayern Munich has set their sights on German international Leroy Sane as a replacement out wide for their two historic wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery who have both left the club after capturing the Bundesliga title for their seventh straight year.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is content with parting ways with Sane despite his importance to yet another title this year for the English giants. The 23-year old bagged 16 goals and 15 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions this term for City. He started 21 of his 31 appearances in Premier League play as well.
But City already has lots of firepower up top with the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero, among others like Gabriel Jesus. Guardiola plans to bring in some more talent this summer as well, so it looks like Sane’s time in England could be coming to a close.

This could be a great signing for Bayern though as it will give them a quality attacker out wide who can fill the shoes of the two legends who just left the club. Sane grew up in Germany as well and spent time playing in the Bundesliga with Bayern Leverkusen and Schalke before he made the move to England.
Although Guardiola has given the green light to let Sane go, his price tag would be close to 100 million euros. This is a very high price to ask and it’s unknown if Bayern would be interested in spending this much on one player. But if City is that keen on offloading the 23-year old so they can bring in new talent, they could also lower their price for the winger.
Sane would form the perfect partnership on the flanks with fellow countrymen Serge Gnabry. They have enjoyed success together at the international level and could do some serious damage in the final third if this signing could become a reality.
Sane fell out of the starting lineup as the season went on with City, coming on mostly as a substitute in the last few months. There is no doubt he is a wonderful talent, but it definitely seems like Guardiola is going in a different direction. Sane would be a great fit for Bayern plus he’s already familiar with playing in the Bundesliga as a youngster.
Bayern was previously interested in bringing Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi aboard, but after his gruesome Achilles injury, they have focused on Sane as an alternative. It’s unlikely that Chelsea would even let their English wonderkid go, so this is the better option for Bayern. Sane is also an established player who has experienced lots of first-team football so even if he does cost a lot, it would be a quality investment for Niko Kovac’s side.
