One of the more worrisome problems for Liverpool as of late is Roberto Firmino’s thigh injury, but it looks as though he has made a huge breakthrough in his recovery.

According to Liverpool FC‘s official website Roberto Firmino has reached a significant milestone in his rehab,

"The Brazilian took part in the Reds’ first session of their Marbella training camp on Tuesday morning as he works his way back to full fitness."

This will be music to the ear’s of Liverpool fans around the world, as Firmino is often considered as the engine that really makes this Liverpool team run at full speed. His work rate, interplay, and runs are brilliant and often confuse opposing defenses who are caught off guard by his tracking as well.

The Liverpool number nine has had to miss some crucial games, including the Champions League semifinal against Barcelona. Divock Origi was the man that stepped up to the opening, and he surely did his job replacing the Bobby Dazzler for the time being. Origi’s goal against Newcastle, and brace against Barcelona will be remembered for years to come.

However, the Reds will still be happy to get their Brazilian back up top to run the show for Jurgen Klopp’s team. His goal against Tottenham in their second match-up in the Premier League gave Liverpool an early lead over Spurs, and he will be hoping to do the same thing in Madrid on June 1st.

The move back to the former Hoffenheim player will also allow Sadio Mane and Mo Salah to run forward more, putting pressure on Mauricio Pochettino’s defenders. The way Firmino sits back in the false nine positions often brings the center halves up higher on the pitch, creating gaps of space for the wingers to run into, which is a reason he is so unique.

Roberto Firmino is essentially the polar opposite striker to Harry Kane, but it looks like now it is safe to say the two will be battling head to head to lift ol’ big ears.
