Real Madrid will announce the highly anticipated arrival of Christian Eriksen earlier than expected and reportedly after the Champions League final.

For the first time in five years, neither Barcelona nor Real Madrid will be in the UEFA Champions League Final. However, the Whites will be keeping close tabs on the clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to see if they can fish out of those two teams in the upcoming transfer window during the summer.

More from Real Madrid

According to Fox Sports, Los Blancos will announce the signing of Christian Eriksen immediately after the big game is done and dusted. The Denmark international has a contract with the Lilywhites until next year’s June and will be leaving this year for a reported fee of 120 million euros, rather than go for free a year later.

Christian Eriksen has been thought to be Luka Modric’s successor and it isn’t incidental that Real Madrid are turning to Tottenham Hotspur to replace the Croatia international. Both the teams play a fast and attacking style of football in which the midfielders are very vital. Therefore, Eriksen has excelled in north London but not from silverware’s perspective.

The 27-year-old has been on the radar of Los Merengues since the last few months and Zinedine Zidane could finally have a midfielder who has a frequent direct involvement in the goal scoring facet of the game. Moreover, Eriksen’s demands would not be exorbitant as compared to Paul Pogba who might have to end up being at Manchester United for another season.

While Christian Eriksen is close to being a Real Madrid, he might not be the last player that Madrid sign from the Premier League this summer. They have their eyes set on Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante as well as Liverpool frontmen Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane over the last few months.

Will Christian Eriksen be a good signing for Real Madrid at 120 million euros?
