As Eintracht Frankfurt continue to play hardball with Real Madrid, the Whites have shortlisted one of Sergio Ramos’ worst nightmares as an alternative.
Real Madrid were expected to announce Luka Jovic’s signing this week following the conclusion of Bundesliga, but it seems like Eintracht Frankfurt are being trenchant with their demands for the Serbian. The Germans initially demanded 60 million euros for Jovic, but have now gone on to increase their evaluation for him to 100 million euros.

Florentino Perez can definitely afford to pay that much money for signing Jovic, but the unwillingness on his part is because the player has his eyes rooted on a move to Spain’s capital and also because he is not a seasoned superstar across Europe and has played for just one year at the top tier of European football- though the statistics look exquisite.
Los Blancos are on a certain budget for this summer and are not ready to shift their financial paradigm because they have several other players on their radar. Hence, they are perfectly comfortable in walking away from the Jovic deal and have shortlisted Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski as an alternative to the 21-year-old, according to Fox Sports.
Robert Lewandowski has crossed path as Real Madrid’s opponent more than once and he has certainly been influential. His four goals against them in the semi-finals of 2013 during his Borussia Dortmund tenure were certainly unforgettable and Sergio Ramos is also in favour of this move because he did have nightmares against the Poland international.
Bayern Munich are eyeing a squad revamp this summer and with Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery already having departed, it wouldn’t be feasible if Lewandowski leaves the club too. But the 30-year-old has signalled that he wants to taste newer challenges in England or Spain after spending the most extensive parts of his career in Germany’s top tier.
Irrespective of Bayern and Lewandowski’s stances, Real Madrid will mostly give it all to sign Luka Jovic, particularly because of his age. Furthermore, Barcelona are waiting to poach on the striker should the Merengues miss out on the Serbia international and that is the last thing they want to happen, though 100 million euros is certainly an exorbitant price.
Should Real Madrid extend their offer for Luka Jovic to a greater sum?
