One of Real Madrid’s most sought after targets is angry at the club’s slow and steady approach and wants to consider staying at his current place.

Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in the Champions League Final. The Lilywhites did come a long way this season but certainly losing in a final is a huge dismay for any team. One of their standouts players from this season in Christian Eriksen could have already had his last act with the highly budding English side amid rumours of a move to Real Madrid.

More from Real Madrid

The Denmark international’s contract in north London expires in June 2020 and he is turning down an extension as he hopes for a move to Real Madrid. The Whites were interested in him as well as Paul Pogba, but Toni Kroos’ contract extension and even Luka Modric possibly following up means that only one of the Premier League duo would sign during this summer.

Zinedine Zidane has now made his mind up and told Florentino Perez that he is interested in Paul Pogba over Christian Eriksen, as per Diario GOL. This is something that has clearly frustrated the Danish midfielder because he was hoping to be in a different set of white from 2019/20.

Eriksen was hoping that Real Madrid’s representatives would take advantage of him being in Madrid for the Champions League Final and meet with him, but Florentino Perez cancelled the meeting of the two parties’ executives following consultations with the Merengues’ boss who wants Pogba at all costs.

Spurs’ midfielder does not want to be left hanging by Real Madrid and wants to hear from his suitors soon as he may consider committing his future to Tottenham now. Whether Mauricio Pochettino stays or not, the north Londoners are a huge danger across Europe now and Eriksen is okay with being a part of that project, thanks to the fans’ and teammates’ love for him.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will fasten their approach for Paul Pogba now that the European season has officially come to a close. The Manchester United midfielder is labelled at 188 million euros, but Florentino Perez hopes to negotiate the price down to 150 million euros and is also willing to offer Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Keylor Navas instead of the money.
