Mo Salah should not listen to Samuel Eto’o about joining Barcelona
By Josh Ricker
Recently, former African superstar Samuel Eto’o has tried to publicly convince Mo Salah to join forces with Barcelona, but this is why he should not consider the move.
While Samuel Eto’o was a great footballer, he might not be giving the best advice to Mo Salah. According to The Boot Room, in a recent interview, Eto’o said the following about the Liverpool player,
"“Barcelona would be a better fit,”. . . “If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona. Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.”"

Claiming the Spanish league is the top league in the world he is hot take in itself given how well English teams performed in Europe this season, taking all the spots in the two finals played in Baku and Madrid. However, saying Barcelona would be a better fit than Liverpool is a preposterous statement.
Not many players can score 30+ goals a season from the wing, and there is a reason for that. Jurgen Klopp and his tactics bring out the best in Salah, with the 4-3-3 pressing formation suiting his high up the pitch attacking style of play.
At Barcelona, the Egyptian would simply be an afterthought and a role player, much like Philippe Coutinho who is already regretting his departure from Anfield.
Klopp has warned his leaving players before that going to a club like Real Madrid or Barcelona is not always the best move. There you are just another player, while at Liverpool you can become a club legend if you win trophies like they did this past spring. Why would the 27-year-old want to leave a team that has been to the Champions League two years in a row, and is looking better than ever?
Also, the move probably will not happen because sporting director Michael Edwards negotiated after the Coutinho move that any future deals are done with Barcelona in the next five years would be priced at $100 million more than the face value. Sorry, Eto’o but it does not look likely.
