Gareth Bale is having somewhat of a showdown with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane. The Welsh superstar has been left out of Zidane’s plans for next season with the manager keen on bringing compatriot Paul Pogba to the club.
It is but obvious that things have gone sour between Zinedine Zidane and Gareth Bale with the former wanting the Welshman out of the club. Having been frozen out of the squad, Bale remains adamant on staying at Madrid for the next season. Bale still has three years left on his Real Madrid contract and seems to be in no hurry to depart the club where he earns a massive £650,000 a week in wages. There were reports of Bayern Munich trying to sign Bale, either on loan but those reports were turned down by the players manager according to the Daily Mail.

With Los Blancos exploring the option of offloading Gareth Bale, the club is considering including the player in a deal that could possibly bring Paul Pogba to the Santiago Bernabeu. Zidane clearly wants the world cup winner in his squad and has publicly appreciated the player. Manchester United on the other hand seem to be reluctant at letting their prized player leave the Old Trafford. Pogba had a dip in form at the beginning of last season but seemed to have regained confidence under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the second half of the season. After a successful world cup campaign, where he shined, Pogba would obviously attract the eyes of big clubs like Madrid and PSG, but The Reds have managed to hold on to the Frenchman and aren’t willing to consider any offers that don’t match the players valuation, currently at £150 million.
Marca report that Real Madrid are keen to offer Gareth Bale in a player plus cash deal for Paul Pogba, looking to take advantage of the fact that the Welshman was once a transfer target for the Manchester club. Pogba too seems to be keen to depart from England and is believed to be looking for a new challenge with previous club Juventus too interested in securing his services.
Manchester United remains adamant on not letting Pogba leave the club and are resisting offers from clubs but speculations suggest that the World Cup winner will hand in a transfer request after he returns from the United States where he is currently on vacation.
Real Madrid have already spent a staggering £344 million on new signings this transfer window but do not seem to be hesitant in spending more in order to secure the services of the Frenchman.
Will Pogba leave United to play under his idol? Only time will tell.
