Arsenal FC are looking to add quality players to their squad with the hopes that it helps them to win silverware in the upcoming season. However, their limited budget for the transfer window clubbed with an inflated transfer market tends to make things difficult for the Gunners.
With bids for Wilfried Zaha being rejected, the North London club is now looking towards other options and Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez seems to be one of them. The player is linked with a move away from the Spanish giants with big clubs like PSG, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan seeming to be interested in signing the winger. Real Madrid have spent heavily this summer, securing services of marquee players like Hazard and Jovic and would be certainly looking at selling a few players who may be deemed surplus to requirements at the club.

AS reports that Arsenal and Real Madrid are in talks, negotiating a possible transfer for Vazquez to the Emirates with the Gunners placing a bid of €35 million for the Spain international. Vazquez too would be interested in the prospect of playing in the Premier League and Arsenal boss Unai Emery has also long been an admirer of the Real Madrid player. Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has also reportedly told Vazquez that he would get a limited amount of playing time at the club, especially after the arrival of Jovic and Rodrygo. With Euro 2020 right at the horizon, Vazquez would want to be included in the squad for Spain and not playing regular first team football will plummet his chances to feature for his country.
Unai Emery seems to have made Lucas Vazquez one of his primary transfer targets for this summer and Arsenal also seem to have an upper hand over all the other clubs when it comes to securing the services of the Spanish winger. With Madrid leaving for their pre-season tour in the coming week, Zinedine Zidane would want to get all the transfers done before they head out and thus we can expect the negotiations to be instantaneous.
Will Emirates prove to be the place where the Spaniard will reach his peak?
