Manchester United, Arsenal and PSG chase French midfielder
France and Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has been the subject of interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Premier League clubs Manchester United and Arsenal. All three teams are on the lookout for a midfielder to strengthen their teams and the ex-Monaco man seems to be a key target for them.
Bakayoko endured an underwhelming start to life at Stamford Bridge and this made the club take the decision to loan him out to Serie A side AC Milan. The midfielder also wasn’t perfect there after enduring a tough campaign under boss Gennaro Gattuso but eventually found his feet at the club and his performance started improving game after game and he became an immovable force in AC Milan’s midfield.
After being an exceptional figure in the Monaco season that won the Ligue 1 in 2016-17 and reached the Champions League semi finals, Bakayoko’s career graph took a downward slope after a series of disappointing performances but nevertheless the player has attracted the likes of PSG, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Paris Saint-Germain may have an upper hand in signing Bakayoko given the fact that current sporting director Leonardo was the one who took the midfield powerhouse on loan from Chelsea while he was in charge of the sporting duties at AC Milan. As per RMC, the player has even been contacted by PSG. However, Manchester United too have shown intent on signing the player and have begun discussions with Chelsea regarding the player. Having lost Ander Herrera on a free to PSG and with the future of midfielders Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic being uncertain, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would need a high quality replacement in midfield.
Arsenal boss Unai Emery is also an admirer of the player and made an attempt to bring Bakayoko to PSG while he was at the club. Bakayoko would provide the aggression that Ramsey got into the midfield and would help in the transition from defense to attack for the Gunners. However, as always, Arsenal’s budget is the only hindrance in the club securing the services of the French international. A switch back to England from Serie A would benefit the player. Newly appointed Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard would have to make a decision regarding he players importance in the his plans for the club. If Bakayoko won’t be included in Lampard’s plans for Chelsea, the Blues would surely want to cash in on the defensive midfielder.
Tiemoue Bakayoko has started pre-season training with the Chelsea squad and his future with the London club still remains uncertain with 3 elite European clubs interested in signing him.
