Arsenal has been without a proper winger for some time now…

There are many problems that need fixing with Arsenal. However, they are going the right way to filling in these holes. For example, Unai Emery was appointed at the start of last season to fix their managerial situation and Sokratis Papastathopoulos was later signed to fill the centre back void.

However, a problem which has not yet been addressed is their winger situation. This is a problem because Arsenal has no real wingers and instead they paper over the cracks by playing the likes of Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan out of position at times.

This is why it’s good to see that Arsenal is being linked with a winger. That’s right, according to The Sun, the Gunners want to sign Malcom from Barcelona. Although, they will face competition from Everton who has long been interested in the Brazilian star, even before he joined Barcelona.

Malcom has failed to live up to his potential early on at Barcelona. In fairness, he has tried his best but he just cannot get in ahead of the likes of Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembele. Ernesto Valverde will certainly want what’s best for him, which would probably include loaning or selling him to another club.

Malcom has the potential to become one of the world’s best in his potential. Ageing at 22 years old, he should really be considering his career moves closely. Whether or not Arsenal is the right destination is something only he can decide.

One thing which works in Arsenal’s favour is their appointment of Unai Emery. Emery is very good at working with young players and helping them blossom into their peak. It also helps that with Arsenal currently, there isn’t much pressure to succeed in the league.
