Manchester United renew interest in two players from Serie A
Manchester United are out in the market looking for more players to sign after getting players like Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka to join the club.
With players like Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic’s futures at the club being uncertain, United are in the market for a central midfielder and are also looking for an alternative option in defence just in case they aren’t able to land Harry Maguire. The Red Devils have turned to Serie A with the hopes of filling up these two positions at the Old Trafford.
As per Sky Sports, Manchester United are willing to offer a sum of £72 million for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian, who has played an integral role for Lazio ever since he joined the club, also seems to be wanting a move but reportedly won’t in any way be forced to leave the club and would be prepared to spend another season at the Italian side.
The player extended with the club in October 2018 after a rather quiet World Cup where he was expected to perform well for his country coming off an exceptional season for the men in blue which saw him linked to big clubs like Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

The player who has scored 31 times and assisted 18 in 162 appearances for Lazio has been valued at a mammoth price of £90 million by the clubs president who wouldn’t be willing to lower that price.
Manchester United have been admirers of the player for quite some time and are in need of a midfielder, having also shown interest in the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Mario Lemina. United are also on the lookout for a center back and this has led them to renew their interest in Fioretina’s Nikola Milenkovic.
Milenkovic has also been a long-standing target for Manchester United, with the Reds attempting to bring him to the club in 2018 where they saw a £36 million offer being turned down by Fiorentina. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be wanting to sign a defender before the start of the season and is keeping his options open while negotiations with Leicester City for Harry Maguire continue. Milenkovic has a contract until 2022 with Fiorentina and would cost United a hefty sum.
United face competition from teams like Juventus and PSG who have also enquired for Milinkovic-Savic and given the fact that both, Savic and Milenkovic, have more than two years on their contracts makes them expensive prospects for the club.
