Manchester United increase their valuation of Paul Poba
By Kian Long
Manchester United is not messing around this transfer window…
One of the in-demand players this summer is Paul Pogba. The Frenchman, who once broke the transfer record when he signed for Manchester United from Juventus, is rumoured to be on the move. Of course, it’s not the first time headlines have been around him and it certainly won’t be the last.
It was thought that Real Madrid wanted to acquire his signature. However, given Manchester United’s hefty valuation of him, they may start to reconsider. According to the Daily Star, United will now demand £180m for his name. This is a whopping £30m increase from their last stance, but why?

Paul Pogba is clearly not going to sign a new contract at Old Trafford. If he did, it would a bold and potentially stupid move. The club is not going in the direction that Pogba needs, especially in terms of European football. While Pogba is no stranger to the Europa League, there’s no denying he is Champions League calibre and he won’t be playing in this competition next season.
Pogba signing for Real Madrid would be the best career move for him. That said, he should be hoping that Florentino Perez is willing to spend the big bucks. He would be working under Zinedine Zidane, perhaps the best Frenchman to ever play in Pogba’s position.
Working under Zidane can make or break players and without a doubt, this proposition would make Pogba. He is an attack-minded midfielder with flair in abundance. He has a wide range of passes up his sleeve and he has the ability to unleash a shot from anywhere on the pitch.
Real Madrid has already had a busy transfer window, signing the big names in Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic early on. However, this shouldn’t brush the story aside, since they have still yet to remove some dead wood in Isco and James Rodríguez.
Where do you think Paul Pogba will be playing next season?
