Many will be quick to say Tottenham is the best destination, but there are many arguments in Arsenal’s favour too…

Dani Alves is yet again making the headlines. It seems that no matter how old he gets, he is still spoken about on a global scale. After lifting the Copa America with his nation Brazil, Alves now finds himself in a predicament between Tottenham and Arsenal. This is according to Mundo Deportivo, who reports that they have both joined the race to sign Alves.

The Brazilian full-back is a free agent following his contract expiry at Paris Saint-Germain. He may be nearing the end of his career but Alves is not one to give up and if he can squeeze another season or two out of himself, then he definitely will.

Anyway, it’s always a tough decision between the two North London sides so if the decision does come down to it, here are five reasons why Arsenal is the best option…

1. An easier transition for Dani Alves

If I were to choose any English club that replicates how they play football in France, with tiny hints of Spanish football, it would be Arsenal. No questions asked.

The Gunners were known to implement many French players into English football during Arsene Wenger’s early years. It was this transition which made them into invincibles and gave the Premier League worldwide recognition.

While things have tailed off since then, there are still many signs of French football in this Arsenal side. Given that Alves is coming from Paris Saint-Germain, this would benefit him. It also helps that Unai Emery is now at the helm for the Gunners, a man who spent a few seasons in charge at PSG.

This will make Alves’ transition to English football much easier since there is not much he would need to change. It goes without saying that Alves has a stubborn persona, so this would play into his court just as much as Arsenal’s.
