Liverpool has made a huge first step in the fight to try and get Philippe Coutinho back from Barcelona after just a year and a half away from Merseyside.

Liverpool has removed their “pinned tweet” on Twitter, which is something they have only done in preparation for a big signing or announcement. They have already announced the rosters for the United States preseason tour, so what could it be? There is a small possibility it could be for 16-year-old sensation Harvey Elliot, however most signs point towards Philippe Coutinho.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Coutinho has already agreed on a move back to the English club with the following statement,

"Calciomercato then reported Coutinho has given his backing to an offer from Liverpool to take him on a two-year loan with the option to buy for £88million."

It would be a shell-shocking move across the world if Jurgen Klopp was to get his little magician back. Being able to play behind Firmino, Salah and Mane could be the true key to unlock Liverpool’s offence and make them unstoppable. While the £88 million is probably more than Klopp would have wanted to spend, Liverpool will still make a profit on the original deal which funded the purchases of Virgil van Dijk and goalkeeper Alisson Becker.

It seems as though the Reds fan base is split on bringing him back, as many feel like he betrayed and disrespected the club by forcing his way out to try and win trophies. Funny enough, he would have won at least one, maybe two if he stayed. Making two Champions League finals is no joke, and his addition to the squad could make Klopp’s men go for a double in the European competition.

In addition to Liverpool removing their pinned tweet, Philippe Coutinho has also taken Barca out of his Instagram bio, and the last time he did something like that he left the club within two weeks. It will be interesting to see how everything plays out with the Brazilian, but as of now, it seems like he wants to be back with his friends at Liverpool, where his heart has always been at.
