Barcelona gives PSG six options in their hunt for Neymar
By Kian Long
Barcelona is finally initiating things between them and Paris Saint-Germain…
Neymar appears to be the name of the summer and it’s not hard to see why. First, he was involved in court allegations before being stripped of the international captaincy and missing the Copa America. Then, he was linked with a move back to his former club Barcelona, which he left to join Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee which remains the same.
Now, it’s rumoured that Barcelona is finally beginning to initiate the negotiations. And they have gone in with an incredible offer. According to Sky Sports, Barca has offered PSG £90m plus two players. Of those two players, PSG was given a list of six potential candidates.

The players which Barcelona is willing to part ways with includes Philippe Coutinho, Ousmane Dembele, Ivan Rakitic, Nelson Semedo, Samuel Umtiti and Malcom. All of these players have been linked with moves away from the Camp Nou, so it’s not a surprise to see them being included.
However, Philippe Coutinho is subject to many discussions lately. The Brazilian maestro has been linked with a move back Liverpool, with recent reports suggesting he even approves of the move. That said, the thought of Barcelona offering him to PSG does challenge those rumours.
The players in which PSG choose, should they wish to accept this deal, will depend on how Thomas Tuchel wants to shape up. If he feels like he needs a direct replacement for Neymar, then either Ousmane Dembele or Malcom will be his favoured options.
However, if he would like to strengthen his midfield then Ivan Rakitic or Coutinho would be his options. The latter provides a more creative flair, whereas the former would be used to provide more stability and dictation of play in the middle.
PSG has a very strong centre back pairing in the countrymen Thiago Silva and Marquinhos. However, the fans will be very aware of what Samuel Umtiti could provide following his work with the French national team, of course winning the World Cup last summer.
Where do you think Neymar will be playing next season?
