Arsenal is very close to agreeing on terms with Real Madrid, reports suggest…

Arsenal is going through an underwhelming transfer window and the fans are beginning to grow frustrated. Over the last few days, there has been a trend on Arsenal Twitter which reads “#WeCareDoYou”; a question aimed at their board of directors, who do not seem to be investing any money into the club.

However, fans could soon get what they want, their first signing of the summer. Goal reports that Dani Ceballos, currently of Real Madrid, could be an Arsenal player as soon as Wednesday when the two sides meet for a pre-season friendly.

More from Arsenal FC

Ceballos has been in incredible form this summer, helping his country Spain to lift the U-21 European Championships. He was an important player to their campaign, even featuring in the team of the tournament.

This begs the question, why exactly does Real Madrid wish to sell Ceballos? Well, the answer is simple. They may be looking to free up space, or even add to their spending funds for the rest of the summer. After all, they are linked with names such as Neymar and Paul Pogba, both of which will not come cheap.

Ceballos is much like Aaron Ramsey, which is handy considering Arsenal is in the process of replacing the Welshman. Both players are incredibly versatile, pushing forward to attack at any given opportunity.

The Gunners have struggled in midfield for a few seasons now. This is why it’s good to see they’re not letting Ramsey’s departure have detrimental impacts on the team as a whole. With Lucas Torreira and Grant Xhaka sitting deeper, Ceballos will be given all the license in the world to roam forward.

Goal also understands that Unai Emery will prepare a third bid for Kieran Tierney, a left-back playing for Scottish champions Celtic. That said, it’s fair to say that Arsenal is finally making moves in the transfer window and it’s refreshing to see.

Where do you think Dani Ceballos will be playing next season?
