Inter Milan have been dealt a blow as Manchester United rejects their £54 million bid for Belgian striker…
Antonio Conte’s persistent efforts to bring Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan has been dealt a blow with the Red Devil rejecting a £54 million bid from the Italian giants. United believe that this bid is way below their £90 million valuation of Lukaku. Inter Milan have been unsuccessful in offering a higher price for the striker until now and it is seeming to look like the Nerazzurri cannot afford the Belgian forward.
Romelu Lukaku, on the other hand, seems keen to make the move to Italy after having a terrible 2018-19 campaign where he saw himself being dropped to the second choice as manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer preferred playing youngster Marcus Rashford up front.

Inter boss Conte has been a keen admirer of Lukaku and tried to sign him while he was at Chelsea but the player opted to join Manchester United instead.
As per BBC Sport, when asked about the current situation regarding Lukaku, Antonio Conte had the following things to say :
"“I think frustrated is a big word. He is a United player. That is the reality. You know I like this player. I tried to bring him in Chelsea. Today Lukaku is a United player. At this moment we are talking about a player from another club. I consider him an important player for us to have a good improvement. At the same time, there is a market, we know very well our situation.”"
Inter Milan submitted their bid of £54 million for Lukaku following Conte’s desperate appeal to the clubs board to bring the Belgian on board as he would be a good improvement to the squad. When asked about Mauro Icardi, Conte said that the club had made it clear that the Argentine was not a part of their plans for the upcoming season.
A lack of progress in Inter’s attempts to sell Icardi may be a reason the club is not ready to offer more for Lukaku and are getting cold feet to pay such a huge sum without any cash coming into the club prior to the big spend. Romelu Lukaku has been left out from the squad that faces Inter Milan in Singapore due to an injury and will not feature against his potential suitors whilst Icardi has not travelled with Inter for their pre-season tour.
