Arsenal: Unai Emery finally speaks out about transfers
By Kian Long
After a recent trend on social media, Arsenal boss Unai Emery has spoken out to show he cares…
Arsenal fans are no strangers to voicing their concerns on social media. While “#WeCareDoYou” did not quite reach the global scale that “#WengerOut” did, their concerns have been listened to and a lot faster this time around.
Speaking to the press after their impressive win against Fiorentina, with Eddie Nketiah stealing the show with a brace, Unai Emery had the following to say. The full statement can be found on Goal…
"“Some players are expensive and we are working on these possibilities because we don’t want to go to the second line of player.” – Unai Emery"

What Emery means by this, is that he is not looking to strengthen his second options. Instead, he is looking to bring in players that are first-team ready and those that can help the Gunners in their quest to reach the top four again.
The names in which Arsenal are currently linked with include Kieran Tierney, Dani Ceballos and Dani Alves. All of these players could easily make the Arsenal first team and each one would flourish under the guidance of Emery.
Arsenal finished in fifth place last season, which was disappointing since they were battling for top four throughout the majority of the campaign. They also fell at the final hurdle in the Europa League to their bitter rivals Chelsea, so they will again be playing in the second-tier of European football.
Perhaps this is why they’re having a hard time pushing for transfers. However, Emery knows what he is doing and he will do all that is in his power to convince his targets that Arsenal is the right destination for them.
It’s thought that Arsenal and Real Madrid could agree on terms as soon as Wednesday when the two sides meet for a pre-season friendly. This would set the wheels in motion for the Gunners and will certainly spark life back into the Emirates Stadium faithful.
Who do you think Arsenal will sign this summer?
