Barcelona newbie says re-signing Neymar will be a difficult task
Newly recruited Barcelona forward Antoine Griezmann says that it will be difficult for Barca to resign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain…
FC Barcelona completed the signing of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this summer after shelling out a staggering €120million to activate the Frenchman’s release clause and now want to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain. PSG are open to selling Neymar for the right offer but sporting director Leonardo claims that the club still hasn’t received an official offer for the player.

Both teams seem willing to go ahead with the deal with Barcelona also having reportedly offered €100m and two of Samuel Umtiti, Nelson Semedo, Ousmane Dembele, Malcom, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic in exchange. However, Antoine Griezmann feels that it will be a tough task for his club to re-sign the Brazilian superstar while also reaffirming the fact that the Barcelona squad is already filled with top-class players.
Speaking to Sky Sports, when asked about what his views were about playing alongside Neymar, Messi and Suarez, Antoine Griezmann had the following to say :
"“We have to get it done first, because it is a difficult transfer. But he is a great player, he’s had a couple of injuries but is at an incredible level. We also have Dembele, Coutinho and Malcom who are also important players for us and let’s hope we can achieve great things with them.”"
Barcelona seem to be one of the favourites to win the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season, having last won it in 2015. With the additions of Frenkie de Jong and Antoine Griezmann, the Blaugrana are already a force to reckon with and bringing Neymar back to the club would practically make them invincible.
Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde then will have the task of fitting four superstars in his attack and to maintain decorum in his squad as there will be a lot of superstar personalities clashing that can lead to potential disputes like the famous ‘penalty-gate’ incident at Paris Saint-Germain involving Neymar and Edinson Cavani. Nevertheless, it is all up to Barcelona to provide PSG with the right offer in order to convince them to let Neymar go.
