Reiss Nelson NEEDS to be part of the Arsenal squad this season…

Arsenal is undergoing a period of transition from last season when they disappointingly finished outside of the top four. Unai Emery was brought in to achieve this feat, however, he is now relying on his second season in charge to do that.

It’s difficult now to pinpoint the troubles which Arsenal hold since it can not be blamed on the quality of their players. They have an immensely talented squad, including a multitude of upcoming starlets. Reiss Nelson is certainly one of those.

More from Arsenal FC

The young Englishman returned from his loan move this summer. It was a successful loan spell with Hoffenheim, which saw him score seven league goals in 19 appearances. Arsenal needed his quality last season, however, the fans were thankful he had the opportunity abroad to prove his worth.

Naturally, many thought that this loan spell would give Nelson the key back to the Arsenal squad. I mean, he is probably the only worthy option the Gunners have available to them out wide. He is an excellent reader of the game and his ability to either cross or cut inside cannot be faulted.

However, it’s not been reported that Unai Emery is going to consider loaning him out. According to reports from The Sun, Emery will decide within the next two weeks whether to keep Nelson in the Arsenal books or send him out on another loan to the Bundesliga, this time with Hertha Berlin.

The Gunners have been thought to be interested in the likes of Yannick Carrasco to fill the void out wide but, in my honest opinion, Nelson is the better option and he would not cost a bomb to keep. It just seems like the obvious decision to keep Nelson.

So, to a lot of Arsenal fans, it seems like a ridiculous thing to be pondering. Arsenal should be focusing on bringing players in right now, not loaning out one of their most promising players.
