Manchester United to set a deadline for Inter Milan to complete the transfer of Romelu Lukaku…
Inter Milan have been trying to put an end to their pursuit of Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku but have failed to match the clubs valuation for the Belgian. The Red Devils want to recover the £75 million that they paid Everton for the player and rejected Inter’s £54 million bid for Lukaku. In addition to imminently losing Lukaku, the Red Devils also risk losing star midfielder Paul Pogba to Real Madrid as manager Zinedine Zidane has specially asked the club to sign the World Cup winner.

Inter Milan need to sell players in order to generate enough revenue to make a higher bid for Lukaku and Inter boss Antonio Conte is looking to sell forward Mauro Icardi and midfielder Radja Nainggolan. However, United are growing wary of Inter Milan delaying negotiations for Lukaku.
The transfer window for the Premier League closes on 8th August and any further delay in negotiations between the two teams would mean they won’t be able to replace him and thus the club won’t allow any senior player to depart unless they have ample time to find a replacement. The Manchester club is apparently interested in signing Nicolas Pepe from Lille but would have to get rid of Lukaku first.
As reported by Mirror, Manchester United will set a deadline of seven days for Inter to complete the transfer which means that the Italian giants would have roughly till the end of July to submit a refurbished bid and complete the transfer. If Inter fail to do that, Lukau will most likely end up staying at Manchester United as there have been no offer from other clubs for the Belgian forward.
Antonio Conte seems to be agitated with Inter’s inability to sign Lukaku at the earliest as he was promised the player to be a part of his squad as he took up the managerial position at the club. Conte has been an admirer of the player and has been expressive of his desire to sign the Belgian and believes that Lukaku will play an important role in making Inter a better team. Inter need to generate the funds to make an improved bid however will have to be extremely careful as they’ve just come out of the sanctions laid by them on UEFA as they failed to meet the Financial Fair Play Regulations.
Will Inter be able to generate the necessary funds to finally put an end to this transfer saga?
