Per Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Milinkovic-Savic’s manager Mateja Kezman was in England to finalize a deal with Manchester United, where the Old Trafford club will pay €75 million in addition to binuses for the Serbian midfielder. There ha also reportedly been an agreement of a salary of €5.8 million between the two parties.
To add to that, Lazio president Claudio Lotito, who had admitted that he was finding it tough to convince Milinkovic-Savic to stay at the club after having done that once already 12 months ago, opened up on the players future at the club. Lotio praised the Serbian and while saying that he won’t come in the way of any players aspirations, practically giving Manchester United the go ahead to sign Milinkovic-Savic.
As per Football Italia, Lazio president Claudio Lotito had the following to say about Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s potential exit from the club :
"” I’ve created a family vibe here. If someone posed me a problem over career satisfaction, I’m ready to satisfy them. he objective is to become one of those clubs who are a point of reference in Europe, and there are 12 of them today. “"
The Italian entrepreneur then went on to add the following :
"” Still, it’s normal for a top player to have aspirations of wanting to play for a great club. We still haven’t got to that stage, but should a player come to me like a son then I’d find it unfair to deprive them of such an opportunity. Furthermore, if you want to maintain a harmonious atmosphere, you must try to please your players. “"
On his attempts to convince the Serbian midfielder to stay at Lazio, Lotio said the following :
"” Milinkovic has shown sincerity and responsibility, so that isn’t the case with him. He feels good here. “Last year I managed to resist the assaults of other clubs, but this year I’d have fewer weapons if a different solution was proposed to the player. Let’s say that I used up some of my weapons last year. “"
Manchester United may be able to finally complete the transfer of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio but this may eventually cost them their star man Paul Pogba. With rumors of Nemanja Matic‘s exit from the club doing rounds, United seem to have a breather if they manage to complete the transfer for Milinkovic in time.
