Neymar to stay at Paris Saint-Germain for one more season
Paris Saint-Germain will ask Neymar to stay at the club for one more season before letting him go in 2020…
The Neymar transfer saga may finally be coming to an end with the Brazilian superstar eventually staying at Paris Saint-Germain. However, anything can happen in the football world as long as the transfer window is open so it’s too soon to conclude anything. Paris Saint-Germain had said that they would be willing to let Neymar go if they received the right price for him but till date haven’t received any official offers.

Neymar has made his intentions very clear to the club and has even spoken to sporting director Leonardo conveying his desire to leave the club and head back to former team FC Barcelona. Barca have already spent heavily this summer but were willing to offer cash plus any two of Samuel Umtiti, Nelson Semedo, Ousmane Dembele, Malcom, Philippe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic in exchange for Neymar. However, Paris Saint-Germain aren’t willing to accept any player in a deal for Neymar, as reported by L’Equipe and are demanding for the full €222 million that they paid for his release clause while the player was at Barca. This meant that it would be next to impossible for the Catalan club to sign Neymar given that they have already spent close to €200 on summer signings and need to sell players in order to finance a deal for Neymar.
With no offers on the table due to their high asking price, it was reported by Le Parisien that Paris Saint-Germain had lowered their asking price for Neymar from the original €222 million to somewhere between €130 million to €150 million and would be willing to accept two Barcelona players as a part of the deal.
However, Sport now report that with no official offers for the Brazilian on the table yet, PSG want to, for once and for all, put an end to the ‘internal crisis’ involving Neymar and will let the player leave Paris in the next 12 months for a respectably higher sum. The club’s sporting director has already spoken to the players representatives however Neymar feels that this proposal has come a bit too late. He made his intentions to leave pretty clear and this has led to the supporters of the club go against him.
With Leonardo set to meet Neymar in China, Paris Saint-Germain can only hope that the Brazilian agrees to this offer. The club seems to have lost all hope of convincing the player to stay at the club but feel that this offer may seem to be a temporary solution to end this entire fiasco. If the 27-year-old disagrees to this proposal and demands to leave the club this summer itself, PSG will be left with no other option but to lower his asking price even further and strike a deal with Barcelona.
Will Paris Saint-Germain be able to convince Neymar to stay at the club for another season?
