Sell Dybala for a midfielder

I had to combine these two moves into one because one can’t happen without the other and I really just don’t have much left to say about a Paulo Dybala transfer. I have been advocating for his sale for over a year now and acquiring one of the midfielders I’ll highlight is exactly why i think his sale is necessary.

Juventus attempted to fill its need in the midfield by signing Aaron Ramsey on a Bosman transfer,

but it’s hard to completely trust that he is the last piece this midfield needs. Ramsey is a talented player and one who would give Juve the attacking mindset they have been missing in the midfield for the last few years, but he also comes with some injury issues attached. It makes it really difficult to have much faith in his ability to be the missing piece that makes this team a true contender in the Champions League. If his injury issues persist then Juve will once again be entirely without a player who can fill his role. To me, that’s a big problem.

Luckily for Juventus, there are still some top options they could sign to take over this role themselves and take some of the pressure off of Ramsey. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Isco should both currently be targets for Juve and either one would be amongst the best in the world in this role while not suffering from Ramsey’s injury issues. Paul Pogba would also be an option, but I just can’t see Juve adding him and Icardi to a squad that already features Ronaldo. That has “circus” written all over it.

The sale of Dybala would be enough to fund either of these moves (and Juve would have plenty of money left over in the case of an Isco deal) and this would be a preferable outcome to the swap for Lukaku. Swapping Dybala for a top-tier midfielder would be the move that makes Juventus the favorite to win the Champions League this year. it would quickly turn around what has been a terrible start to the month of August and might even help fans forgive Juve for selling young talent and fan favorites to start the month.
