ST- Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang-7

The pacy Gabonese was hardly involved in play with him spending half the time chasing after the ball as a cat does a ray of light. A clinical finish in the 58th minute saw Arsenal take the lead which eventually proved to be the difference between the two sides. He was looking to run in behind Newcastle’s defense at every available opportunity and prior to the goal, he seemed to be trying too hard to make things happen.

Dani Ceballos( on for Joe Willock)-6

More from Arsenal FC

The Real Madrid loanee still seems to be getting to grips with the Premier League. He sprayed the ball around quite efficiently in the closing stages of the match although there were some nervy moments with a loose pass by the Spaniard almost leading to a Newcastle equalizer had he not been bailed out by the Arsenal defense, who were excellent on the day.

Nicolas Pepe( on for Reiss Nelson)-6

Arsenal’s record signing managed to get himself into good scoring positions although he could not manage much in the 20 minutes he was afforded by Emery. The Ivorian demonstrated his ability, however with a couple of brilliant flicks and mazy runs. Still lacking match fitness, Pepe had the Arsenal supporters licking their lips at the prospect of his partnership with Aubameyang and Lacazette.

Gabriel Martinelli(on for Henrikh Mkhitaryan)-(N/A)

The teenage Brazilian was brought on by manager Unai Emery in order to run down the clock. Martinelli had no significant impact on the game although he is quite far from the finished article, as illustrated by his time on the pitch.
