Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar is closer than ever to heading back to FC Barcelona this summer…

FC Barcelona have reportedly accelerated their efforts to bring Neymar to the club as this transfer saga gets dragged on. The Brazilian superstar has not featured for PSG this season, missing the pre-season games, the Trophée des Champions and the club’s first Ligue 1 game. Though Marco Verratti and Kylian Mbappe have tried to publicly persuade Neymar to stay at the club, his time seems at the French capital seems to have come to an end and he may never wear the PSG shirt again.

The Daily Mail reports that Barcelona’s director of football Eric Abidal and has traveled to rance in order to hold discussions with PSG over Neymars return to the Camp Nou. Les Rouge est Bleu fans clearly are not happy with the Brazilian and it was evident at the clubs first Ligue 1 game against Nimes where the fans displayed huge banners that read ” Neymar Go Away”. As per Daily Mail, the clubs official store also has very minimal branding of Neymar and there seem to be zero jerseys of the player at the store, the branding of which seems to be more concentrated towards Mbappe.

Le Parisien report that Barca have provided PSG with an updated offer of Coutinho plus  €60 million, that can be increased to  €80 million, in exchange for Neymar. This development comes after Real Madrid reportedly upped their interest in Neymar and offered Luka Modric plus cash to PSG for Neymar. Paris Saint-Germain seem to be fed up of this entire drama surrounding the club and Neymar and also seem desperate to announce the Brazilian’s departure.

With PSG sporting director Leonardo saying that talks of Neymar exiting the club are more advanced than before, it is a clear signal that the Brazilian forward is at the brink of leaving the club. Barcelona seem to be in pole position to re-sign Neymar and just have to come up with a deal that would be suitable to all the parties involved. With PSG reluctant to accept less than  €150 million in cash for Neymar, a probable solution for Barcelona at this point would be to reduce Neymar’s wages in order to increase the money offered in addition to a player. Mirror also report that Lionel Messi has stepped up and had a chat with Neymar in order to convince him to come back to the Camp Nou.

Neymar looks set to return to Barcelona, putting an end to two mediocre years at PSG where he was overshadowed by Kylian Mbappe. Will Neymar reach his best once again at Barca?
