At this point it almost seems like a foregone conclusion that Juventus will win the Scudetto every season.

After 8 consecutive years of Juve dominance it’s getting hard to believe that anybody is going to dethrone them any time soon. Serie A’s top teams have been making moves to once again contend with Juve for the Scudetto and there is still some time before the transfer window closes, but it doesn’t appear that anybody will be making anymore big moves before the end of the summer. In spite of the big signings that have already been made, this looks like another season that should end with Juve lifting a trophy.

Here are the reason why Juve will once again be crowned Champions of Italy (unless something massive surprisingly changes in the next few weeks).

Cristiano Ronaldo

It’s always nice to know the best player in any match you play is on your side. That’s why Cristiano Ronaldo is a reason by himself. When all is said and done, nobody else in Serie A can say that they have a player capable of taking over a match like Ronaldo can.

He is a goalscorer unlike anybody the rest of the league can claim to have available. Last season, we only saw glimpses of what it looks like when he takes over a match and Atletico Madrid can attest to just how quickly your fortunes can turn around when Ronaldo is at his best.

This season, he will be able to truly unleash his abilities after finishing in the top 5 amongst Serie A goalscorers in spite of Juve’s conservative, defensive style of play. In a much more open and attack-focused system he could score 30 goals for Juve this season.

Players like Giorgio Chiellini and Miralem Pjanic are just as important to the team’s continued success, but neither of them can win a match by themselves like Ronaldo can.

I’m expecting big things from Ronaldo in year 2.
