Samuel Chukwueze (20) – Winger, Villarreal

It seems as if every year, there is a new promising Nigerian prospect who rises up the ranks and catches the attention of numerous clubs from Europe’s top five leagues.

This year, that talent is none other than 20-year-old Samuel Chukwueze.

His rise as of late is credited much due to his dream start in world football over the past 12 months; he made his La Liga debut and represented Nigeria at the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

His lightning speed is what has attracted many coaches and scouts in La Liga. Chukwueze has the ability to simply outrun defenders on the flanks and cut inside into the box — a component of his game that was on display against Barcelona last season.

He is quick with the ball and knows just when to unleash movements upfield. He completed a fair 55% of dribbles last season with an average of 2.2 successful dribbles per game.

Chukwueze is all but guaranteed to be a starter once again for the Yellow Submarine. With playing time not a concern, Villarreal are hopeful he can soon emerge to be a consistent 20 goals per season winger in La Liga.

The list goes on and on with players to watch. La Liga is filled with youth ready to cement their status as the next breakthrough talent in the league. Many other young players such as Bryan Gil, Alexander Isak and Fran Beltran have the potential to do just that.

The future is essentially now in La Liga.
