Juventus complicate matters for Barcelona in their Neymar chase
By Kian Long
Juventus could be the team that ends up landing Neymar in a twist of events…
Neymar is perhaps the biggest name of the summer. He is unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, hence he is looking for a move away. This has led to a huge amount of interest from both Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are seen by many as the front-runners. However, now Juventus have entered the fray.
That’s right. According to AS, Juventus have “opened talks” with Paris Saint-Germain over the sale of Neymar. The Old Lady want to double up on last summer’s acquisition of Cristiano Ronaldo by bringing in the heir to his throne.
Juventus have had a good transfer window so far. Most notably they brought in Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot on free transfers while securing the signings of Matthijs de Ligt and Danilo, among many others.

They are the front runners of Serie A, which kicks off this Saturday. Juve will open the account of the season against Parma away from home.
Who knows? Perhaps Neymar’s arrival could happen before them. If this miracle were to happen, then nobody could dispute that the Scudetto will remain with Juventus. Neymar is one of the best players in the world and he captivates many using his flair on the ball. He has the ability to dribble past his opposition with ease while also cutting inside as and when he pleases.
Barcelona are still the favoured destination
However, it’s important that Juventus remain realistic. It’s still early days and it remains to be seen whether they stand any actual chance of signing Neymar. Other news today, deriving from ESPN, suggested that Barcelona are set to make their offer. The Brazilian shared a lot of success with his old club so he is bound to be skewed towards this move.
In short, Juve shouldn’t put all their eggs into one basket. However, it’s excellent to see they’re ending a busy transfer window on a high. After all, this is football and anything can happen.
