Napoli to bolster their squad by acquiring PSV Eindhoven and Mexican superstar, Hirving Lozano.
PSV Eindhoven are set to cash in Hirving Lozano as the Mexican is reportedly set for a move to Napoli. According to Yahoo! Sports, Lozano will become Mexico’s most expensive player as Napoli will pay $46 million for the winger. He will sign a five-year contract in which he will earn $4 million per year plus bonuses.
Gianluca Di Marzio reports that a total agreement is only a matter of time as they are finalizing details and the player’s image rights with agent Mino Raiola who is not always the easiest agent to deal with.
Lozano had long been rumoured with a move to one of Europe’s top leagues after impressing last season with the Dutch giants. Those rumours intensified once PSV failed to qualify for the Champions League playoffs.

Lozano missed their last game due to an injury but it should not affect his signing. The player has already travelled to Italy where he will undergo a medical before a deal is announced.
Also known as “Chucky,” Lozano had been on Napoli’s radar for a while but was not necessarily the club’s first choice. James Rodriguez was at the top of their list considering the manager, Carlo Ancelotti, knew him from their time at Real Madrid. The Colombian looked destined to a move but Napoli could afford to pay what Madrid were asking for him.
But Lozano is no slouch in his own right. He’s played brilliantly ever since he arrived at PSV two seasons ago and had an excellent showing for Mexico in the 2018 World Cup. He is most remembered for scoring the goal in Mexico’s first game of the tournament against the reigning champions, Germany.
Moving to Napoli, a side who is playing Champions League, is beneficial for his career and he joins a team in which the manager counts on him and one who will get the most out of him. With Juventus firing Allegri and signing Maurizio Sarri, their stranglehold on Serie A is not as tight as it once was.
We may be in store for an interesting title race in Italy with Napoli, among others, improving their squad. Hirving Lozano is now set to be an important player for Ancelotti and one who could play a huge factor in the title race when all is said and done.
