Barcelona aren’t going to have it that easy…

And we’re back – The longest transfer saga involving Neymar continues. As time ticks on, Barcelona are going to have to speed things up. They want to bring back their former star from Paris Saint-Germain but so far, they’ve had no luck.

According to Marca, the Catalan club submitted their first offer for a loan. It involved a €150m option to buy, however, PSG were not best pleased. Reportedly they are holding out for a €250m option to buy.

The Parisians have absolutely every right to demand such a fee. After all, they did break the transfer record to sign the Brazilian from Barcelona and he hasn’t exactly declined. To lose money on their biggest signing in history is not what they would want, so deservedly Barcelona would need to cough up more funds.

More from FC Barcelona

Neymar is worth all the money in the world. He is one of the best players out there currently, Barca fans need no reassurance of this. He is incredibly skilful and he also has the ability to cut inside. He is a real talisman and alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, he formed one of the most potent attacks in history.

He will need to familiarise himself with Antoine Griezmann should Barca sign him. However, the two have opposite playing styles so they shouldn’t clash. Ernesto Valverde will just have a nice struggle on his hands of trying to squeeze in four world-class players.

Neymar has only two downfalls. One of them is his ego, which seems to have gotten the better of him at the Parc des Princes. He was known to fall out with Edinson Cavani quite early on and it was all because the players around him didn’t let him have his way. At Barcelona though, he is used to being only second in command behind Lionel Messi.

He is also prone to injury, especially within the last few seasons. Perhaps this is a testament to his playing style, but the Barca physio will be wary of this since they won’t want to spend too much time treating him off the field.
