It’s been a long time coming but Barcelona could have submitted their final offer to re-sign Neymar

This transfer window has certainly been a busy one. However, one of the main names has been Neymar. The Paris Saint-Germain player is wanted by his former club Barcelona, however, it would appear they are now not as desperate as they once were.

Following their opening day defeat to Athletic Bilbao, many were sceptical as to whether or not Barca could repeat as La Liga champions. However, they recently dimmed any glimmers of doubt by destroying Real Betis 5-2.

Star signing Antoine Griezmann finally got off the mark by scoring a brace, again, settling down any doubters after his horrific debut. They got off to a shaky start but in the end, the Barcelona players showed us all what they’re capable of and it shows they can do it with or without Neymar.

More from FC Barcelona

Anyway, Barcelona remain the front-runners in the chase for Neymar. According to Fox Sports, they have submitted their final offer to Paris Saint-Germain. The deal is said to include Ousmane Dembele and a “hefty fee”.

This is a bold statement from Barcelona and you can understand why it is last chance saloon for PSG now. Dembele is one of the world’s most exciting prodigies and Valverde has high hopes for him. So for Barca to submit their final offer including him, PSG simply must accept.

PSG will soon reach a stage where they have nothing to lose. It sounds ridiculous to say given that Neymar is their biggest and most expensive project ever but things could take a turn for the worse if PSG keep ahold of him.

He is known to be the type of personality that likes to get their own way. He fell out with Edinson Cavani early into his Paris career. Given that he is open to a move away, there is a chance his negative aura could spiral out of control and affect his teammates behind the scenes.

If this is the case, then Thomas Tuchel and company would be much better off accepting the Dembele plus cash bid. Besides, Tuchel is one of the best managers in the world to flourish under as a young player.
