Real Madrid fans aren’t going to be delighted with this…

The summer transfer window is now a thing of the past. However, the post-window ripples are beginning to merge in full flow. Real Madrid had a successful window, bringing in their two main signings Eden Hazard and Luka Jovic early on.

However, they did not have the most complete transfer window. They were also linked with the likes of Christian Eriksen, Paul Pogba and even Neymar. However, each of these three remained at their respective clubs.

Real Madrid could feel the detrimental effects of not signing Eriksen. According to Express, their arch rivals Atletico Madrid will pursue a move for Christian Eriksen in the January transfer window.

More from Real Madrid

Atletico had a bright transfer window too. They replaced the departing Antoine Griezmann well by signing Joao Felix, as well as strengthening their defence by bringing in Eriksen’s ex-teammate Kieran Trippier.

Diego Simeone’s men have performed excellently at the start of this La Liga campaign. They have kept a 100% record in their opening three games, the only Spanish top-flight side to do so this far in.

Simeone is known to be a defensive manager, often perceived as a negative style of play. However, bringing in Eriksen would add another dynamic to their philosophy. He is one of the best creators in the world and he also has the skill set to match.

He has played a part in Harry Kane being the player he is at Tottenham, consistently supplying inviting balls to the Englishman. With Joao Felix ailing to be the next best attacker in the world, he would look to benefit from Eriksen’s deadly service.

Do you think Eriksen will switch clubs in the summer?
