LW: Cristiano Ronaldo 6/10

It’s difficult to entirely fault him for it, but Cristiano Ronaldo was mostly nonexistent in this match. He got just about no service in this match and the rare chances he had weren’t in situations where he really had a chance to score. This was the type of match where Juve needed Ronaldo to create one of those special moments that have become so routine throughout his career, but everything he created was relatively pedestrian. Gonzalo Higuain’s resurgence just hit a huge bump in the road. In fact, he had to be having flashbacks to his time at AC Milan during this match. Juve’s midfield gave Higuain absolutely nothing to work with in this match. RW: Douglas Costa: Inc.

It took only 8 minutes for Douglas Costa to leave the match with the injury that started an absolutely woeful day for Juventus. Costa had been one of Juve’s most impressive players through the first 2 matches of the season, making this injury especially deflating for the squad. Hopefully he is able to return soon.
