Liverpool got the job done in the end…

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side faced a trip to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea. It was bound to be a difficult match but the Reds did have a safety cushion in knowing that no matter what the result was, they would remain at the top of the Premier League.

They went into this match with a 100% record in this league campaign. However, they did suffer a blow in midweek when they lost to Napoli. To make amends for this at Stamford Bridge is worthy of applaud. Especially considering Chelsea were also hungry for the win and played well.

Goals came from Trent Alexander-Arnold following an impressively worked free-kick. Then, later on in the first half, Roberto Firmino climbed high to head a ball home. VAR played into Liverpool’s favour by denying a potential equaliser from Cesar Azpilicueta.

N’Golo Kante marked his comeback with an impressive goal, however, Liverpool did well to keep cool heads and see out the win. So, without further ado, how did each individual perform for Liverpool?

Adrian – 7/10

Adrian played well, particularly in the first half. He had to deal with a lively Tammy Abraham and he did so the way Liverpool fans would have liked. There was a moment where he denied what seemed like a clear goal from the forward.

There was not much he could do about N’Golo Kante’s goal, it was simply a superb effort which no goalkeeper could reach. He was unlucky to not get the clean sheet, however, Chelsea did deserve to score given the chances they had created.
