Juan Cuadrado 7/10

Juan Cuadrado was forced into action early in this match because of Danilo’s injury and he ended up being a pleasant surprise at right back. Cuadrado doesn’t have the best history on the defensive end as a right back, but he played well today and didn’t allow Brescia openings on his wing to create an equalizer. He didn’t make a big difference for the attack, which was disappointing in a match where Juve didn’t have much of a presence on the wings, but I’ll take what I can get when Juve has to play Cuadrado at right back.

Federico Bernardeschi 6.5/10

Federico Bernardeschi has to be considering moving on from Juventus at this point. Even with

More from Serie A

Douglas Costa injured and Cristiano Ronaldo being rested, he still couldn’t get into the starting lineup. He was very active  during his time on the field in this match, but still couldn’t really do much with that activity. It wasn’t a good performance. It wasn’t a bad performance. I’m just worried that this is what he’ll be until he finds a way to get regular playing time.

Blaise Matuidi 6/10

Blaise Matuidi wasn’t on the field long, but he helped Juve keep their lead late in the match. I don’t really know why they brought him in to close the match out instead of just letting him get some rest, but he was fine while he played.

Manager: Maurizio Sarri 7.5/10

The revolution at Juventus continues to come along very slowly. It obviously hasn’t been helped by the injuries that continue to pile up, but I would have hoped to see some improvement by the time the team played their 6th match of the year. For some reason, Sarri continues to select Sami Khedira for the starting lineup even though he provides the squad with absolutely nothing. I hope that changes soon.

Other than that, I thought he picked out a pretty good lineup and I like the idea of using Dybala alongside another striker for as many of his appearances as possible. Juve still seems to be struggling to find an identity and has not started matches well at all this year. Both of these issues need to be fixed quickly because the schedule is about to get a lot tougher. Hopefully we start to see some of that Sarri magic that Juve brought him in for.
