3. Go with youth

Pochettino’s tenure at Tottenham has been largely defined by bringing young players through to the first team and developing them into legitimate stars. It’s noticeable that no one has really made that kind of leap for Spurs in the last 6-12 months. It’s time for Tottenham to hand larger roles to some young, exuberant layers.

Oliver Skipp needs to become a regular member of the match day 18. Harry Winks gets all the attention in the middle of the park for Spurs, but Skipp is almost on the same level and is several years younger. Starting Skipp as a defensive midfielder is something Pochettino should be very comfortable with moving forward.

Troy Parrott is another youngster who deserves more opportunities. Instead of counting him to lead the line on his own, Pochettino should pair him with Kane for the immediate future. Parrott’s been prolific for the Academy and it’s only a matter of time before he starts to score goals for the senior side.

Pochettino also must make sure his back line starts to get younger. Kyle Walker-Peters deserves continued minutes at right back. Juan Foyth and Japhet Tanganga need to be rotated into the starting XI upon occasion as well. These youngsters might make some mistakes, but their energy can help lift Tottenham out of their troubling slumber.
