1. Banish Christian Eriksen

Eriksen has done some terrific things for Tottenham during his time in England, but he’s been absolutely dreadful this season. Outside of an inspired performance on the bench against Aston Villa, he’s been one of Spurs’ worst players on the current campaign.

The chances of him signing a new contract with Tottenham seem to be somewhat approximate to a snow ball’s chances of surviving in hell. He hasn’t come out and publicly declared his determination to leave as soon as possible, but his actions communicate that message loud and clear to Tottenham fans.

This gives Pochettino a chance to make an emphatic point to the rest of his squad if he sends Eriksen away to train with the youth. He can tell everyone that no one is above the law if he punishes Eriksen so severely. Making the move to banish him from the first team squad would permanently destroy Pochettino’s relationship with the talented Dane, but it’s in the club’s best interest.

Tottenham fans hoping for Eriksen to make a u-turn and sign a new contract for Spurs are living in a dream world. It’s only a question of whether he leaves in January for a fee or in the summer for free. It’s time for Pochettino to get ahead of the issue and cleanse the cancer from his dressing room. Eriksen isn’t a bad apple, but he’s spoiling the whole bunch with his listless attitude at the moment.
