Real Madrid are ready to give away Isco to Atletico Madrid in a bid to get in one of the Rojiblancos’ first team regulars into their roster.
Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane had a big revamp of his squad during the summer. Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard were the marquee signings made by the club, but James Rodriguez’s return from Bayern Munich has been seen with great positivity as well by the manager who did not consider the Colombian midfielder too highly two years back.

Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Casemiro continue to be Zinedine Zidane’s A1 options in the centre of the park, but with the Croatia international recently being injured, James Rodriguez was handed over the keys to Real Madrid’s engine room and it is fair to say that he did an incredible job and has won over Zidane.
One of those Madrid players who have fallen down the pecking order since the Frenchman’s return to the Merengues’ dugout has been Isco. The former Malaga man has never been able to touch his peaked form since 2018/19 and persistent injuries have seen Federico Valverde get preferences over him as well, and James’ entry into the squad could spell danger for 27 year old Isco.
Fox Sports has reported that Real Madrid’s manager is eyeing a swap deal with bitter rivals Atletico Madrid and is willing to let them have Isco in return of Thomas Partey. Partey is naturally a defensive midfielder, but he is also capable of playing in an advanced role. He has performed really well over the past few seasons and is a year junior to Isco.
Florentino Perez considers Isco important so whether he will correlate with Zidane’s request remains to be seen, but Real Madrid will definitely prioritize on bigger and better names than Thomas Partey. Christian Eriksen, Paul Pogba and Donny van de Beek are the other three midfielders they have been linked with since the last few months.
