Rodrigo Bentancur 6/10

Rodrigo Bentancur was Juve’s first sub in the match, but wasn’t really able to make his presence felt once he was introduced. He made a tackle and that was about it for his appearance. I still think he is a better fit for Juventus than Sami Khedira, but it looks like he’s going to be stuck making late cameo appearance for a while this year.

Aaron Ramsey 6/10

I was surprised Aaron Ramsey didn’t start this match and by the time he was finally subbed on,

there wasn’t really much left for him to do. I’m really not sure why Juve even bothered to bring him into this match instead of just letting him rest and making sure he’s healthy for Sunday’s Derby d’Italia.

Paulo Dybala 7/10

Paulo Dybala wasn’t in this match for very long and Juve just protected their lead for most of his time in the match. In spite of that, he did manage to make an impact in this match when he assisted Ronaldo’s goal. He’ll have the chance to make much more of an impact on Sunday when he starts against Inter.

Manager: Maurizio Sarri 8.5/10

Juventus played an ugly first half in this match, but Maurizio Sarri was able to get a much better second half out of them. In any sport, a team making big improvements in the second half is just about always because their coach was able to make the right adjustments at halftime. I still have issues with his selections for the starting lineup and I don’t understand why Dybala and Ramsey were rested against Leverkusen instead of SPAL. Overall, it’s tough to be anything but happy with Juve’s first Champions League win of the season, even if they didn’t look their best for the first 45 minutes of the match.
