CM: Miralem Pjanic

I’m going to be honest, I don’t know if Miralem Pjanic would have gotten a spot in this 11 just 2 weeks ago. He had been good, but not great to start the season and was pretty disappointing last year. However, we saw aa return of the old Pjanic last week and I think that version of him is a pretty easy choice for this lineup. With the squad dropping into a back 5 whenever they aren’t in possession, he would have plenty of coverage to operate as a playmaker and would help create chances for the attack. His playmaking ability would be key to this squad finding success.

CM: Stefano Sensi

Stefano Sensi’s move to Inter Milan flew a bit under the radar this summer because of their signings of Nicolo Barella, Romelu Lukaku, and Diego Godin, but he’s certainly being noticed now. There are very few players in Serie A playing as well as Sensi right now as he has already scored 3 goals and 2 assists in just 5 starts. He has been a huge reason why Inter currently sits at the top of the Serie A table. With the way he’s playing right now, he belongs in the 11 for just about any squad Italy can produce right now.

CM: Aaron Ramsey

He has only had a few games to make an impression at Juve, but Aaron Ramsey has looked great in his limited action. Ramsey’s talent has certainly never been questioned even during his time at Arsenal, but his injury issues greatly limited his impact on the squad. Now that he is healthy and Juve is managing his minutes, he looks like a dangerous force in the attacking third. I debated including Marcelo Brozovic instead of him, but Brozovic isn’t the same level of attacking player as Ramsey and the squad really doesn’t need help on the defensive end with that back 3, 2 wing backs, and Pjanic sitting in front of the defense.
