Juventus player ratings vs Inter Milan: Dybala and Higuain send Juve to top of table
By John Vaccaro
CAM: Federico Bernardeschi 5.5/10
Federico Bernardeschi was the only player I was really surprised to see in the starting lineup for Juve in this match. Sarri hasn’t seemed to be overly impressed by him and other than his goal against Leverkusen he hasn’t really done much to change that. Aaron Ramsey was also rested on Tuesday, seemingly in preparation for this match, so I’m not really sure why Ramsey never made an appearance in the match. In his absence, Bernardeschi was pretty average again. I barely even remember seeing him touch the ball for the duration of his time on the field. I don’t really understand why Bernardeschi was started in this match, but that isn’t something that should continue.
ST: Cristiano Ronaldo 7.5/10
I thought for sure that Cristiano Ronaldo was going to score Juve’s second goal of the day. He made a great move to create space for his shot and it looked absolutely perfect right until it hit the crossbar. Then he had a goal disallowed because Dybala was offside in the buildup to the goal. Ronaldo created a few chances for Juve in this match and played a part in the buildup to Higuain’s winner. Even though he wasn’t able to score against Diego Godin once again, he was as dangerous as ever against Inter.
ST: Paulo Dybala 8.5/10
What a shot. Seriously, the angle Dybala scored that goal from was extremely impressive. It seemed right then that Dybala had reasserted himself as an every match starter for Juventus. Then he continued to cause problems for Inter’s defense. He nearly scored a second, but was denied by Handanovic and then shot the rebound over the crossbar. He also nearly added an assist, but was offside before he played the ball to Ronaldo. This was another stellar performance from Paulo Dybala that will make it very difficult for Juve to consider ever leaving him out of the starting lineup this year.
