Juventus player ratings vs Inter Milan: Dybala and Higuain send Juve to top of table
By John Vaccaro
Rodrigo Bentancur 7/10
Rodrigo Bentancur didn’t enter the match until the 61st minute, but he made sure to make this substitute appearance count. He played the pass that beautifully set Higuain up for his winning goal. That was more than the player he replaced did in the first 60 minutes of the match.

Bentancur has needed to find a way to make an impression to get himself more regular minutes. This might have been that impression.
Gonzalo Higuain 8/10
Less than 4 minutes into the match, it looked like Paulo Dybala had officially claimed the starting spot that he has been battling Gonzalo Higuain for all season. Higuain had different ideas. He came on in the 61st minute with Juventus needing a goal to leapfrog Inter in the standings and he got them that goal 19 minutes later. It was another great moment for Higuain on his comeback tour and I really don’t know how Sarri is going to choose between him and Dybala at this point.
Emre Can 6.5/10
I was surprised when Emre Can was brought into this match. You just wouldn’t expect a player who wasn’t trusted with a spot in the Champions League squad to be trusted as a sub in a match of this magnitude. However, he used his chance well. He didn’t spend much time on the ball, but he did help keep the pressure off of the back line. I hope this match is an indication that Sarri will be giving Can more chances moving forward.
Manager: Maurizio Sarri 9.5/10
Maurizio Sarri was just about perfect in this battle between Chelsea’s last 2 managers. I agreed with most of his starting lineup (and predicted 10/11 players right before the match). The one issue I had was the exclusion of Aaron Ramsey. Given his injury history, this could have been to keep him healthy or because he has an injury that we don’t know about, but with no mention of either of those things being true it seems odd that he wouldn’t be included in this match. The rest of what Sarri did was great though. He got a great performance out of the team, started the right players for the most part, and made the right substitutions at the right times to get his team the win. This match was fittingly Sarri’s best yet as Juve manager and it got his team back on top of the table.
