Manchester United are not happy with the media for making up lies…

Surprise, surprise. It turns out that media scapegoat Paul Pogba is not actually as bad as some reports make him out to be. A club source has spoken to the Daily Mail and expressed their frustration over claims of him demanding £600,000 per week.

There are many reasons why such claims were believable, the main one of them being the false reputation the English press have given to Pogba. The tabloids make him out to be self-absorbed and greedy but many people close to the Frenchman can only speak of how humble he is.

It has taken them a while but it’s nice to see that Manchester United as a club are showing solidarity with Pogba. He may be refusing to sign a contract extension but he is still a player at Old Trafford and it is the club’s job to limit the media witch hunt.

More from Manchester United

This anger has arisen due to professionals of the game quoting the false allegations of his wage demands. Karren Brady, the vice-chairman of West Ham United, wrote in her weekend column that Manchester United should sell Pogba if the rumours were true.

Pogba is still nursing an injury which has held him back for most of the start of the season. As he nears full fitness, he will only have one thing on his mind. He will want to play to the best of his ability and get Manchester United out of the position they are in.

Whether or not he plays for a move away is redundant, Manchester United fans will just be happy they have a competent midfielder back. Pogba and Scott McTominay could be important to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as he looks to overturn the club’s horrendous form.

“Anyone that says he’s been asking for £600,000-a-week is wrong.” – Club source at Manchester United

The Red Devils sit two points above the relegation drop-off and their injury list only looks to be growing. That said, they will not want any further upset for Paul Pogba as he nears full match fitness.

Paul Pogba is an attack-orientated midfielder. He loves to play on the front foot and his stock-in-trade is running at pace with the ball at his feet. He has an excellent range of passing and his leadership skills go without question.

All of these attributes combine to make him one of the best midfielders in the world. He just needs to believe in himself and he needs belief from the fanbase, hence his desire for a move away from Old Trafford.
