The previous summer transfer window for Liverpool was all about the future and the club’s transfer policy looks to remain the same.

In the summer Liverpool brought in impressive wonderkids in the likes of Harvey Elliot and Sepp Van den Berg and the club may be looking to do the same come January.

One name who has been linked with Liverpool is Birmingham’s 16 year old starlet Jude Bellingham. According to 90min.com Liverpool lead the race for the midfielder ahead of the likes of Arsenal.

Bellingham is a composed energetic player who has broken through the ranks at Birmingham and is now a regular feature for the blues in the Championship. The England U17 international has already made 7 appearances in the Championship this season and netted twice in the process.

Bellingham’s energetic dynamism would be a great fit for Liverpool, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Jurgen Klopp making a swoop for the player.

Elsewhere Liverpool are also set to be interested in Wigan’s 17 year old Joe Gelhardt according to Goal.  Liverpool see Gelhardt as replacement for the recently departed Bobby Duncan who left for Fiorentina in the summer. The Wigan striker has a great scoring record at youth level for England having scored 19 times in 27 appearances for England’s U16, U17 and U18 sides.

Gelhardt has also netted his first senior goal in the Championship this season and so far has four appearances for Wigan.

A strong, agile and powerful striker, Gelhardt’s persistent energy resembles the ideal Klopp player and he could be the right replacement for the departed Duncan.

Another name in the mix to replace Bobby Duncan is  Czech forward Adam Hlozek. In an interview with Czech outlet Idnes, Hlozek’s agent admitted the reds were among a host of clubs interested in Hlozek’s services.

A tall, powerful and pacy winger, Hlozek already has vast experience at senior level for his current club Sparta Prague having played 32 times and scoring 8 goals; a remarkable feat considering Hlozek only turned 17 in the summer.

Liverpool have also given a trial to 15 year old striker James Graham from Ross County who has been impressing for the Scottish club’s youth teams this season. Graham’s set to have caught the eye during his trial and it is expected that Liverpool will return with an offer for the player.

A signing that has been secured according to Polish outlet Sportowe Fakty is the arrival of 15 year old Polish goalkeeper Fabian Mrozek who impressed whilst on trial and will be joining up with the Reds next summer.

Meanwhile according to a recent report from Calcio Mercato Liverpool are set to rival Juventus for 18 year old Hungarian midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai who has been impressing for Red Bull Salzburg this season and caught the eye in the thrilling 4-3 encounter against the reds at Anfield.

Szoboszlai has great technique and burst of pace which could make him the ideal fit for Liverpool at the heart of the midfield.

Liverpool have always been keen on investing in youth, and it looks set to remain the same come January from the current crop of players being linked with the reds.

Next. It's make or break time for Xherdan Shaqiri. dark

One thing is for certain, the future looks bright for the reds.
