Juventus player ratings vs Torino: de Ligt goes from zero to hero
By John Vaccaro
Gonzalo Higuain 8/10
Just when I was ready to anoint Paulo Dybala the obvious starting striker alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Gonzalo Higuain comes out and has another great appearance for Juve. He didn’t get the start in this match, but he only needed 11 minutes to make his presence felt. First, he forced a nice save from Sirigu with a shot that would have been an absolute golazo had it scored. Then he immediately followed that up by assisting de Ligt’s goal. It looks like Higuain will continue to keep himself in the running for playing time.
Aaron Ramsey 6.5/10

Aaron Ramsey provided a spark to the Juventus attack from just about the second he came on. The gap between him and Bernardeschi is becoming more clear with each passing match and it will hopefully only be a matter of time before he takes the starting job once and for all.
Sami Khedira 6/10
As usual, Sami Khedira had little impact on the match during his time on the field. At least we didn’t have to suffer through another start from him.
Manager: Maurizio Sarri 6/10
This match wasn’t nearly as terrible as the match against Genoa, but it continued a troubling trend. Juventus has been completely uninspiring since they took over the top spot in Serie A. The attack has looked sluggish and they haven’t looked anywhere near as good as they should. The fact that they’ve played pretty weak competition in the month since the match against Inter has helped them avoid being punished by their poor play. The schedule is about to get a lot tougher and Sarri will need to turn things around quickly.
He did a couple of things well in this match though. He finally benched Sami Khedira, which I have been begging for since the start of the season. He also got his first two subs very right in this match. While there were positives from this match, Juve hasn’t played a strong 90 minutes in quite a while. It falls to their manager to change that and he needs to make some changes (start Aaron Ramsey and keep Khedira benched) as quickly as possible.
