CAM: Aaron Ramsey 6.5/10

Aaron Ramsey may have been credited with a goal in this match, but I’m not going to pretend that anybody from Juve actually did anything to make that goal happen. Other than that moment, this was a pretty average match for Ramsey. He was brought to Juventus to advance the attack and helped Juve build through the midfield. Neither of those things really happened in this match. It was Ramsey’s first start since returning from his injury, so it might just take a little while for him to get back up to speed. Hopefully he made it through this match healthy so he can stay in the starting lineup against Milan.

ST: Cristiano Ronaldo 6.5/10

Let me just start by saying, Ronaldo gets 0 credit for that first Juve goal. Ramsey didn’t get credit for tapping it over the line and Ronaldo shouldn’t be rewarded for Lokomotiv’s keeper dropping a routine free kick into his own net. He did have a free kick later on that caused problems again for the keeper and forced a great save with a shot outside of the box as well. However, this was another match that didn’t quite live up to Ronaldo’s standards. He struggled to make much of an impact and the one instance where he actually did impact the match was entirely somebody else’s fault. Ronaldo hasn’t been his usual dominant self in the Champions League this year, but all it takes is one big performance for Ronaldo to return to his usual form. Maybe a match against collapsing Milan will do the trick.

ST: Gonzalo Higuain 7.5/10

This wasn’t Gonzalo Higuain’s strongest match, but he did have a couple of really nice moments that brought his rating up. The first was a shot in the second half that forced a great save from Lokomotiv’s keeper when Juve was trying to reclaim the lead. The second was his great back heel flick to Douglas Costa that helped him finish his ridiculous move and score. Higuain’s passing has been one of the most impressive facets of his game this year and he showed why once again in this match.
